Nectar AI Review of the Free Plan, Pricing and Credits

What’s Changed: Rewritten October 22, 2026. Prices and credit packs re-read from Nectar’s own pricing data (a new 135,000 credit pack at $199.99), plus new sections on Fantasies, the chat models, privacy and the free plan.

Nectar AI is an AI companion and roleplay app run by Nectar AI, LLC at nectar.ai (also served at trynectar.ai). The free plan gives you 15 messages a day, Premium costs $9.99 a month or $59.99 a year, and Ultimate at $34.99 a month is the only plan with unlimited messaging, video and Long Term Memory.

If ready-made roleplay scenarios and deep character building are what you want, Nectar AI lets you try the free plan before you pay anything. The rest of this review shows where the money goes once you do.

Everything here comes from Nectar’s own plan data, app text, privacy policy and terms, read on October 22, 2026, plus what users report on Reddit. Where Nectar publishes no number, I say so instead of guessing one.

Is Nectar AI Free?

Yes, Nectar AI has a free plan, but it is a trial in practice: 15 messages a day, 15 messages of memory, one photo message and one custom companion. Nectar’s plan list adds 10 image generations a day, 4 customization options and one persona.

Those limits answer the question one r/CharacterAIrevolution poster asked, which is whether Nectar starts charging the moment you sign up. It does not, but 15 messages a day runs out inside a single short scene.

The single companion slot is the limit users trip over. One user in a r/CharacterAIrevolution thread reported that they could not delete their one character without paying, which left no room to start over on the free plan.

Nectar AI Pricing, Plans and Credits

Nectar AI pricing plans and credit system breakdown

Nectar AI Premium costs $9.99 a month, discounted from a $19.99 list price, or $59.99 a year. Pro is $19.99 and Ultimate $34.99 a month, with annual prices of $119.99 and $179.99.

Nectar runs two systems at once. The subscription sets your monthly message, photo and voice allowances, and a separate credit wallet pays for extras.

PlanPriceChat and memoryPhotos, voice and imagesBest For
Free$015 messages a day, 15 messages in memory1 photo message, 10 image generations a day, 1 custom companionTesting the interface before committing
Premium$9.99/mo or $59.99/yr6,000 messages a month, 8K context600 photo messages, 50 voice messages, 100 generations a dayUp to about 200 messages a day
Pro$19.99/mo or $119.99/yr9,000 messages a month, 16K context900 photo messages, 50 voice messages, unlimited generations, HD generationUp to about 300 messages a day
Ultimate$34.99/mo or $179.99/yrUnlimited messaging, 64K context, Long Term MemoryUnlimited HD generations, 100 voice messages, video generation, 2,500 credits a monthMore than 300 messages a day, or long memory

Annual billing cuts Premium and Pro in half and Ultimate by 57 percent: $59.99, $119.99 and $179.99 a year work out to $5, $10 and $15 a month. If you plan to stay about six months or longer, the annual plan is the cheaper way in.

Credits are Nectar’s in-app currency for premium actions. Its FAQ lists “advanced roleplay, image and video generation, and access to certain AI models”, and the app text adds that generating an image costs the same as sending 10 basic messages.

Nectar AI plan allowance versus credit wallet

Nectar publishes no credit price per action, so the wallet is the part of the bill you cannot predict in advance. The app shows what a premium model costs per message once you pick it, and when the wallet runs dry it offers more credits, a different model or memory switched off. The credit packs read like this on October 22, 2026:

  • 2,500 credits for $4.99
  • 5,600 credits (5,500 plus 100 bonus) for $10.99
  • 11,600 credits (11,000 plus 600 bonus) for $21.99
  • 20,000 credits (18,000 plus 2,000 bonus) for $35.99
  • 30,000 credits (25,000 plus 5,000 bonus) for $49.99
  • 65,000 credits (50,000 plus 15,000 bonus) for $99.99
  • 135,000 credits (100,000 plus 35,000 bonus) for $199.99

That is about $2 per 1,000 credits on the smallest pack and about $1.48 per 1,000 on the largest. Ultimate includes 2,500 credits every month, the same amount as the $4.99 pack.

Worked example: what $9.99 covers on Premium:

  • 6,000 messages a month is about 200 a day over 30 days.
  • 600 photo messages is about 20 a day.
  • 50 voice messages is under 2 a day, so voice is the allowance most likely to run out first.
  • Premium models, memory upgrades and video are paid from the wallet on top.

A light user can stay inside Premium’s allowances for the month. Extra spend starts when you lean on credit-priced features, and the smallest top-up is the $4.99 pack.

Fantasies, Group Chats and Ready-Made Scenarios

Fantasies are Nectar’s ready-made roleplay scenarios: a character, a setting and an opening situation you can start chatting in straight away, without building a companion first. They sit in their own tab in Nectar’s Discover section next to Companions.

Some Fantasies are group chats with several AI characters in one scene, and Discover has a filter that shows only those. Nectar advertises group fantasies as free to start, but its app reserves the full 10 characters per conversation for Ultimate. Nectar’s app suggests switching to a more advanced chat model for group chats, which on most plans means spending credits.

Premium’s plan description lists “Create Unlimited Custom Fantasies with Companions”, so unlimited custom scenarios start on a paid plan. Nectar’s app also states that Fantasies with private companions stay private.

Nectar AI Chat Models and Memory

Nectar AI memory by plan

Nectar AI lets you pick the model that writes your companion’s replies, and its app lists eight: Nectar Basic Model, Orchid, Orchid Lite, Fuchsia, Primrose, Nevoria, DeepSeek V4 Flash and DeepSeek V4 Pro. Nectar calls Orchid its flagship and describes the Basic Model as “excellent for shorter to medium length conversations”.

Premium models are where credits come in. The app shows each model’s cost per message when you choose it, so check that figure before a long session on Orchid or a DeepSeek model.

Memory depends on the plan: 15 messages on free, an 8K context window on Premium, 16K on Pro, and 64K plus Long Term Memory on Ultimate. Nectar’s own FAQ is candid about the ceiling: “Memory is still technically limited, so older exchanges may fade over time.”

The app also lets you add memories by hand, sorted as Knowledge, Event, Milestone or Custom. Nectar’s FAQ warns anyone who lets a plan lapse that “Premium memory features become unavailable when your subscription ends, and stored chat history from premium tiers may become inaccessible.”

Worked example: how memory decay surfaces on an 8K plan: early in a session you tell your companion you hate small talk. Once enough messages have filled the window, that detail falls out of context and the companion can go back to small talk, because its personality settings stay in place after that early message has dropped out of memory.

Character Customization, Images and Video

Character customization is Nectar AI’s strongest feature on paper: 4 options on the free plan, 45+ more on Premium, 95+ more on Pro and all 350+ on Ultimate. You set the look, body type, outfit and personality traits, then write the backstory and speaking style yourself.

Images arrive as photo messages from your plan’s allowance, 600 a month on Premium and 900 on Pro, and HD generation starts on Pro. Video generation and video messages are listed only on Ultimate.

Visual consistency is what other reviews of Nectar praise most, a companion’s face holding across new scenes and outfits.

Is Nectar AI Safe and Private?

Nectar AI is a real company product from Nectar AI, LLC with a published privacy policy and terms, but the policy says nothing about how long your chats are kept or whether they are used to train its models. The policy, last updated January 28, 2026, says Nectar does not sell or rent your personal information for marketing and shares it with service vendors such as its email provider.

Here is what the privacy policy and terms of service establish:

  • Age: users under 18 may only use the safe-for-work areas, and turning on NSFW mode means affirming you are 18 or older.
  • Security: the policy cites encryption, firewalls and SSL, and states that these do not guarantee your information cannot be accessed in a breach.
  • Cancelling: you can cancel renewal from your profile settings, by emailing support@nectar.ai or through Discord, but there is no refund for the period you already paid for.
  • Your account: the terms let you delete your account at any time from inside the app or site.

Two checks are worth knowing before you search for Nectar elsewhere. Nectar’s Trustpilot profile reads “This profile has been removed”, which I confirmed again on October 22, 2026, so no Trustpilot score exists to quote.

A US App Store search for “Nectar AI” on the same day returned no app from Nectar AI, LLC. The top result, “Nectar Companion AI”, comes from an individual developer whose privacy link points to another company’s domain, so use nectar.ai or trynectar.ai in the browser rather than an app with a similar name.

Nectar AI Pros and Cons

Nectar AI is strongest at scenario roleplay, model choice and character building. The weak spots are cost predictability and how much of the best memory and media sits behind Ultimate.

Pros

  • A free plan with 15 messages a day.
  • Ready-made Fantasies, including group chats, so you can start a scene without building anything.
  • Eight chat models to switch between, from the Basic Model to Orchid and DeepSeek V4 Pro.
  • Up to 350+ customization options on Ultimate.
  • Every plan’s message, photo and voice allowance is published, and annual billing halves the price.

Cons

  • Two currencies at once, and no published credit price per action.
  • One image costs as much as 10 basic messages.
  • Unlimited messaging, video and Long Term Memory are all Ultimate-only.
  • No refund for a period you already paid for.
  • The privacy policy is silent on chat retention and model training.

How Nectar AI Compares to Candy AI and CrushOn AI

Nectar AI beats Candy AI and CrushOn AI on scenarios and character depth, Candy AI is cheaper on a 12-month plan, and CrushOn AI has the lowest paid entry at $5.99 a month. All three are AI companion apps with adult content features, so the right pick depends on what you prioritize.

Where Nectar AI wins: character depth, Fantasies and model choice. Its group-chat scenarios and eight switchable models go further than either rival publishes, while CrushOn AI stays the cheaper way in.

Where Candy AI wins: yearly price and simplicity. Its 12-month plan comes to $47.88 against $59.99 for a year of Nectar Premium, and its Premium plan includes unlimited text with no monthly count to track.

My Candy AI review covers Candy’s plans in more detail, and the Candy AI vs Nectar AI comparison puts the two side by side. For the cheapest paid entry, the CrushOn AI vs Nectar AI breakdown covers CrushOn AI‘s $5.99 Standard plan.

Is Nectar AI Worth Paying For?

Nectar AI is worth paying for if you want ready-made scenarios and deep character building: Premium at $9.99 covers light use, and Ultimate at $34.99 a month, or $15 a month yearly, is the plan for heavy use and long memory.

If you send up to about 200 messages a day, Premium’s 6,000 messages and 600 photo messages should cover you, with a $4.99 credit pack as the occasional top-up. For the depth on offer at that price, Nectar AI is competitive.

If you send more than 200 messages a day, check the numbers before choosing anything below Ultimate. Pro’s 9,000 messages a month is about 300 a day, and only Ultimate removes the message count.

Skip the lower tiers if what you want most is a companion that remembers you over weeks. Premium’s 8K window lets older details fade and Long Term Memory is listed only on Ultimate, so for that use Nectar makes sense on Ultimate or not at all.

Hold off on credit packs until you know which features you actually use. Everyday chat runs on the plan’s message allowance, while premium models, memory upgrades and images in bulk draw on credits.
